>Ward Churchill Visits U of O
>
University of Oregon college republicans, Josh Lusby, left to right, Anthony Warren, and Ben Mortire protest outside the Erb Memorial Union Ballroom where Ward Churchill will speak at the University of Oregon, May 19, 2006, in Eugene, Oregon. Churchill is an American writer, liberal activist, and academic. He is a tenured full professor of ethnic studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and author of over twenty books and hundreds of essays. Churchill was widely discussed and criticized in the media during 2005, stimulated by publicity given to a 2001 essay in which Churchill questioned the innocence of many of the people killed in the World Trade Center attacks, labeling them as "technocrats" and "little Eichmanns." A University of Colorado investigation concluded in May 2006 that Churchill has repeatedly engaged in "serious research misconduct," including "falsification, fabrication, plagiarism, failure to comply with standard procedures regarding author names on publications and other serious deviations from accepted practices".

I shot this downtown Eugene at the McDonald Theater last Saturday night. It was chock full of bone-crunching, blood-squirting, and sweat-showering fun for the whole family. Not my family, but others brought their entire family including the kids!

This photo kind of cracked me up. It looks like a coup de tate on steps of the Oregon State Capitol.
Here's the caption:
Joseph Lara, 18, of Woodburn, Ore., waves an El Salvadoran flag near the steps of the Oregon State Capitol as fellow immigration rights supporters gather Monday, May 1, 2006, in Salem, Ore. Immigration rights supporters skipped work and rallied across the state Monday, part of the nationwide boycott intended to showcase the economic clout of the nation's growing Latino population.

>Sol's friend's Inka and Peter came to America. And, they blew the crap out of the countryside. Shooting in Germany is a difficult and arduous process. Not here. We loaded up my hardware and headed into the hills. I brought the Colt .45, the Remington .280 and the Marlin lever-action .22. It was also Sol's first time shooting. They loved it.
