>The Full Monty

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Smith Barney financial planner by day, Jack Oeming belts out "Zippity Do Da" during an audition for the Actors Cabaret of Eugene production of The Full Monty Monday night. Oeming recently returned to the stage after a 32-year hiatus. He said he and his wife were looking for something to do together and decided to return to acting and singing. He's a little worried it will interfere with fishing season, but thinks it will be worth it. While Oeoming isn't sure what part he'll get, he's prepared to appear on stage in a G-String if need be. "I've been a ham all my life," he said.

>Maybach at the Bellagio

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>This is one of the finest luxury vehicles ever manufactured parked in front of one of the finest hotels in the world . I did not ride in a Maybach and I did not stay at the Bellagio. I did take a picture though.

>Snow Teeth

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>I need to take a photo of Cole that shows his missing tooth better. But, this isn't bad. I shot it in the snow up at Hoodoo Ski Area.

>Snow Detail

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Weather's been weird around here recently. I went to Oakridge to find snow features. I shot this from a bridge over a pond near Salt Creek. I'm sure most people won't like this photo. I'm not sure I do either, but maybe I do.

>Makeup!

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>I liked this photo in color. But, I decided to update my gallery on sportsshooter.com with all black and white images. I ran this photo through BW Workflow Pro which allows the user to choose different filters. To my surprise, the green filter gave me a very unexpected look that was entirely different than "no filter" or any of the other filters. There was a tremendous amount of red in the color version. It looks like I dodged the background down heavily. Not the case. Since the carpet was red, the green filter just made it black. In the end, I really dig the black and white.

I've always thought I could do a series of photos of people waiting in line. It could be displayed in an area where people are waiting in line themselves. They could then think of themselves as art. It may make them feel better about waiting in line. I know I'd feel better about it.

>Bikin' the Strip

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>This dude was out on his bike at 4:00 a.m. It seemed so out of place on Las Vegas Blvd. But, then a dude walking around with professional camera at the time of the morning seemed out of place for a lot of people too, I suppose.

>Chip and Elaine

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>I shot this photo of Chip and Elaine in Las Vegas as Rob Finch, the official wedding photographer was shooting their portrait with the Las Vegas skyline in the background. I'd like to see his. He had Bruce Ely holding a strobe. I bet it was cool.

The advertisments say this overhead screen in old Las Vegas on Fremont Street has 12.5 million synchronized LED modules offering crisp, high-resolution images and astounding special affects – all synched to a lively sound-track fed through a state-of-the-art, 550,000-watt, concert-quality sound system.

>Globetrotters

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>I shot this photo when a Harlem Globetrotter visited a local elementary school. This is one of those times when you know you're seeing a quality individual. Sterling brought his son and incorporated him into the act. The kids had a good time.

>Teenage Obesity

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>I shot this photo for a London based women's magazine. I first met Kimberly Duncan when she was 12-years-old and wieghed 325 pounds. Her health was suffering so her family elected to have undergo gastric bypass surgery. It's been reported that she was the youngest person in the United States, if not the entire world to have the surgery. She's now 16-years-old and well over 100 pounds lighter. However, she's left with an abundance of loose skin hanging off her body, for which the surgery costs an additional $30,000 to remove. Her family is still feeling the finanical pressure from the orginal surgery and cannot afford do have it done. The magazine that commissioned the photo ran a story titled something like, "What they don't tell you about gastric bypass surgery." They then appealed to their readers to help raise money and offered up a token amount of money to get the fund started.

>Doggy Poop

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Here's a quirky little photo from a story that was generated from a slew of letters to the editor about various issues surrounding the very important topic of dog poop.

>Pinewood Derby

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Cole and I raced his car in the Pinewood Derby. He finished 3rd out of about 10 cars. Other than drilling a hole in my finger during the modification process, it was a lot fun. We're going to ramp up next year and build an unbeatable car. The trick is to polish the axles.

>Bikin' in the Sun

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Here's a screen grab off a .pdf of the The Register-Guard's front page today. It's not often we run a stand-alone weather feature on the front page, but everyone's pretty giddy with the nice weather.

>Crabbing Trip

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Here's the story of my trip on a crab boat out of Newport, Ore. I was on the boat for 20 hours. Even though I had a prescription sea sickness patch, I battled nausea and vomiting the entire time. I really came to respect the deckhands Claude and Tony as well as Skipper Al. They are very hard-working guys and very good at what they do.

>Prep Swimming Dual Meet

Added on by Thomas Boyd.

>Sometimes we don't have time to stay for the entire meet to see who's going to win. In this case, I shot a photo that's somewhat generic in that it doesn't show a particular swimmer. I think, it's an interesting look at what was happening. It's more of a scene-setter image. Sometimes an image like this is refreshing and it's something we don't do enough. We are often focused on the best performance or play of the game, which has it's place for sure. But, I don't think it hurts to mixi it up a bit.
