If your're in Reno, you will take a picture of this sign. You have to. It's just what's done.

As I was getting in my car to head to the Reno Airport, the Amtrack pulled in and let a bunch of people off.
I shot this from the third floor of the Harrah's parking garage with my Canon 20D.
>
I felt like Tom Hanks on this trip, only he found a place to shower.
Here's one more pic from the Las Vegas Airport.
>
I tried and failed to sleep in the "B" Terminal at the Las Vegas Airport. I took this photo at 3:43 a.m. Unlike my travelling counterparts, I was wide awake and stayed that way for 36 straight hours.
>Okay, I've been on the road for three days. Now I'm stuck in Las Vegas. As I type this update it's 3:40 a.m. I got here at 7:00 p.m. for a 8:30 p.m. flight to Eugene. We left a half hour late and were in the air about 45 minutes when the pilot says he can't land in Eugene because of the weather...fog presumably. He informs us we would go back to Las Vegas and catch a flight out in the morning.
We couldn't just land either, we had to circle the city for about another half hour to burn off 2000 pounds of fuel. When we land we get new tickets that will put us in Eugene at 1:15 p.m. after we leave from here and go to Phoenix for a change!
So, I was done shooting in Reno at about 10:00 a.m. this morning. I had a rental car. I could have driven from Reno and been home hours ago! Had I known!
Anyway, I'll have some pix from my trip up in few days.

Christmas morning 1971. North Bend, Oregon. The coolest bike ever manufactured. A Schwinn Stingray under the Christmas tree. It's so cool I saw a college kid riding one in perfect condition to class last week.
>
Today I shot copy photos of some of my favorite family photos my parents took of me. I really like this one. It was taken in 1967 with a Kodak Instamatic. This looks way better than the original.

Here's a shot from the Oregon vs. Cal game I shot last night as a freelance job.

Cole and Greta run through the tunnel at Ray Robinson's railroad.
>
I took Cole and Greta to visit Ray Robinson today. Ray lives on a beautiful ranch in Deadwood, Oregon. He has built an amazing 18-inch guage train. So far, he has over 4000 feet of track down including this amazing trestle that goes over the North Fork of Deadwood Creek. He has two engines, one diesel and one steam. The one above is the diesel version. He was also featured on OPB's television show, Oregon Field Guide.
This is a private railroad that one can only be seen by invitation. It was a real treat to experience it.

I'm lacking fresh content to post, so here's a photo I took on assignment in Belize.
>It's been tough a couple days. First, the blower goes out on our gas furnace. On Tuesday night we smelled a horrible burning odor coming through the registers. I ended up calling the fire department to check it out. Nothing was on fire.
When I woke up in the morning, it was 63 degrees inside the house. The blower stopped working. Then, on the way to taking the kids to school, Carries crashes the car. No one was hurt. But some guy's poor Vanagon was gone. Our car sustained $4000 in damage.
Tonight, all is well, We're just a little poorer. We have a rental car, the heat is on, and I just want to watch a little television.
As I like to say, "It coulda been worse." (I love that saying because it's both optimistic and pessimistic at the same time).

This photo makes me long for hot summer days. I shot it on assignment in Belize.

I thought this pic was kind of cool. Not much more to say about it than that.
Sometimes the view from the stands is more interesting than what we can get with a press pass.

Today I took Cole to the Oregon vs. Oregon State wrestling match at Mac Court. I'm pretty sure it's the first time I've ever paid to enter an event at the U of O.
It was well worth the four bucks when the OSU scored a takedown with 17 seconds remaining in the final match of the day to squeak out the victory.
Here's a pic as Jamie Rakevich celebrates his victory over over Cody Parker.
Cole and Greta sing happy birthday to Greg.
Hope you get through it okay!

And they are swinging in a hammock in Ambergris Caye, Belize. They aren't wearing socks because it's 78 degrees. It's four in the morning there. They are waiting for a boat to pick them up and go on an all day wildlife tour up the Belize River. The problem is, it was in 2001. Has it been that long? I need another freelance assignment to Central America.

Carrie thinks just because she goes out of town for a day, she needs to bring back a gift. This time she brings back window paint!
Alright I'm a grump, but the kids loved it, so what the heck.
This is a Quicktime movie of the full Rock 'n' Roll Soldiers picture story. Their song "I got a funny little feeling" plays as the photos progress. It lasts 2:48. Be sure and set your volume before clicking the link, it just starts playing. Half volume with headphones is perfect on my computer. If you're on dial-up don't bother. It's 5.1 megs.

I said you wouldn't see them here again...I lied.
I went to Portland Thursday night and shot them at Dante's Lounge. They sounded great and put on a rippin' show.
The fans loved it.
I wonder when their cd-release date is?
